Brittney is a journalist and photographer who I met in college! She takes fantastic pictures but has never had a place to house all her photography. I created Brittney this studio site for her so that all her potential clients could come look at her beautiful portfolio.
Brittney and I went through two different watermark options and decided on this option. She wanted the hand-written calligraphic look and feel to her watermark that didn’t take away from the picture. It was so much fun brainstorming together and finding the perfect style of logo for her!
At first, we started with the singular letter “B” and designed this letter around a bright yellow sunflower theme. After a month of sitting on this design, we both got together and created the logo/watermark you see now. We both were not 100% convinced on the first logo, and since this project had no deadline or time constraint we kept gathering inspiration together over time. I’m so glad we did this because I love how this new logo turned out! Instead of the bright yellow, the color was changed to a soft orange. Her idea of watercolor, feminine, dainty, and cursive morphed into this design. I had so much fun creating this for her!
Isn’t this maternity photo shoot so perfect?! The setting was gorgeous and that color of blue on her is perfect. Her watermark adds the perfect touch of “Brittney” to all her photos! When we were working on her website, she wanted a very simplistic design that didn’t distract from her photography.
The website is simplistic and perfect for what she is wanting to do. Brittney and I worked for the same newspaper (I handled the website upkeep and she was the photographer) and I always loved seeing her photography in print next to the articles! It was great getting to see all her pictures on a website and getting to be her designer through the whole process.
