1 | Go to this page to switch
Okay, let’s get serious. Hop on over to the business Pinterest page so that you can either create a business account or simply convert your personal Pinterest account to a business one. This is super easy! Most of you will already have a personal Pinterest account that you will want to convert to a business account so you don’t start from scratch with your followers (which is a fantastic idea by the way!). If this is you, just click “convert now” which you will find under the “Join as business” big red button! Now, some of you may want to start from scratch and keep your personal Pinterest account, personal. Just click the big red button that says “Join as Business”!
2 | Convert now, movin’ that personal Pinterest account on up in the world!
You will fill in your business name or your blog name in the first box. There are several options for your business type, just choose the most fitting one for what you do! I suggest putting your website in the third box, even though it does say optional. Obviously, the point of social media is to drive people back to your website so make sure to add that URL because I know each of you work very hard on maintaining your site!
3 | Confirm your website
Even if you do leave the website blank, it still gives you the option of confirming your website. I believe this is if someone else stumbles upon your site and pins one of your beautiful images, then this will show up in your analytics. This last step isn’t required, obviously, to having a business Pinterest account. But definitely a must for having a successful business Pinterest account! Confirming your website is good for two main reasons: more traffic + boost your online SEO. So I hope those are good enough reasons for you to take a few seconds to confirm that website of yours!
